Hey peeps,

Here’s another “fresh” flower report from Garies and surrounds…

In preparation of taking tourists to some of the flower hot spots on a photographic workshop next week, I decided to venture out to Garies to scout the area. There is a gazilian photographic opportunities everywhere, all the way from Wallekraal (25km east from Hondeklip Bay) en route to Garies as well as in and around Garies itself. The municipal camp site in Garies is covered in a carpet of flowers to the extent that campers are finding it rather difficult to find a clear spot!

My advice is to venture out a little in every direction within a 10 - 15km radius around Garies…you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Some of the berg streams are flowing steadily and makes for a rather different and unique landscape pic in Namaqualand. Stop every now and then, especially when you notice different soil conditions. This is when you’ll discover some rather spectacular flowers…especially if you’re into macro photography as I am!

We are truly blessed…we’ve just had 2 continuous days of soft rain…this will no doubt do the flowers some good!

I’ll be heading out to the Namaqua National Park - Coastal section later this week…I’ll keep you posted as to what’s happening there!

P.S. I offer very affordable flower photographic workshops and 4×4 outings, which includes one-on-one tuition to assist you in taking some really awesome pics in a practical, step by step manner without all the unnecessary jargon and technicalities. Contact me for a course that would suit your needs.

Until later…Roberto
